April 1st-April 4th: Trong Gia Gnuyen

Initiation, conversation and dice throwing with Trong Gia Gnuyen. His intervention is taking place in area of the space where 4 artists intervened before Second Hand, Diana Artus, Filip Gillisen, and Olivier Babin. He decides to work with 'divinity', toilets, graffiti, beer, and gets everybody's work engaged in his piece. Thank you Trong.

Sunday March 29th: Olivier Babin

Initial conversation and throw the dice. Olivier Babin proposes to get a sponsoring of free Amstel beer for Exhibition, in exchange he will use Amstel in his piece, a painted writing on the wall in Exhbition: "Amstel, Amstel Jennifer from the block". The idea came to him at the last opening of Exhbition, there was no beer and he was thirsty. Amstel, Amstel, I'm stil I'm still, Jennifer (Lopez I believe, I have to ask him again) from the block. He will make his intervention on Tuesday March 31st. His intervention in the space can dissappear any time a new artists works. He will inform us about the state of negotiations with Amstel Beer. Good luck!
Also 'I don't want your dice, I brought my own dice from the Jurassic Museum in LA, they are two dice, that are actualy erasers. "Let's exchange these dice for your dice". Deal. We have no longer our dice

Jon Cuyson, Second Hand, Georgia Sagri, Matteo Norzi and Hilario Isola, Ania Diakoff, Diana Artus, Klara Hobza, Ana Prvački and Boško Bošković, Filip Gilissen

Wednesday March 25, 2009: Filip Gilissen

Initial conversation and throw the dice. Filip says "I don't want to throw the dice myself", so he steps out of the space and brings a passerby from the street, he invites him to throw the dice. He does so and he leave. Filip check out the space within the space he will be responsible for. He asks about 'hours of operation', so he can work in the space. His piece, golden balloons letters V-A-M-O-S is delivered on saturday: VAMOS (let's go in spanish). His intervention is videotaped and photographed.

Monday March 23rd, 2009: Ana Prvački and Boško Bošković

Initial Conversation and throw the dice.
They will be working on their intervention until Wednesday March 25, 2009. Because of the hat used to draw the names of the artists who will be participating in the Exhibition project, they suggest why don't we have rabbits? 3 dice, 3 rabbits. The most common variety of rabbits during Eastern is Chocolate Rabbits! they leave on top of the desk written instructions on how to deal with them. Yes, you are allowed to eat them,
somebody already tried biting on one of their ears

Friday March 20th, 2009: Klara Hobza

Initial Conversation and throw the dice. She will be working saturday and sunday in the space. She needs a desk to work on her paper airplanes. The desk of the space is offered to her, she places herself and the desk in the back of the gallery, facing the entrance. She displays the paper airplanes she has built in one of the columns of the space, on the back side. The front side registers the diversity of heights achieved by every plane's flight with the name of their inventors. I notice my artist friend Emily Mast is one of them. Klara leaves on the desk some of the drawings to build paper airplanes.

Exhibition, opens Sunday March 15, 3-8pm

For Immediate Release:

Exhibition

Opening reception: Sunday, March 15, 2009, 3 - 7

Exhibition is a temporary (six months) independent, not for profit art initiative located in a vacant storefront at 211 Elizabeth street in New York.

Exhibition offers an experimental and contradictory artistic and curatorial approach. Only a continuous single exhibition will be shown during this six months project. The artwork exhibited will be produced by a chain of subsequent artists interventions in the space and/or on the artwork. The work space assigned to an artist is ruled by the rolled of a dice and the artist's order of intervention is ruled by a name drawing from a hat. The artist agrees to an 'Initiation Ritual' in person and on-site that sets the conditions of participating in the project, which includes renouncing to any ownership of the art work produced, the art work is not for sale in any form, and that the art work can be appropriated, transformed and deleted by subsequent artists.

The exhibition context is created then by the intervening condition of the continually accumulating, massing, heaping, cleansing, subtraction, and constriction. An archive area is designated in the space for documenting purposes.
